Gov. Doug Ducey has issued his fourth annual executive order declaring his moratorium on all new regulatory rulemaking by state agencies in Arizona.

The moratorium, which was his first official action, has been reissued each year since 2015.

According to Ducey, such actions help businesses grow by reducing regulatory burdens, which will in turn “guarantee a stable regulatory environment for existing and prospective companies.”

Last year, Ducey launched the RedTape.AZ.Gov service, which allows state residents to offer suggestions online about the state’s regulatory system. His State of the State address this year revealed his plan to get rid of 500 regulations by the end of the year. 

Ducey's plan led to 676 regulations being eliminated, representing a savings of $50 million to the state.
