Census Bureau reports Salem population was 1,394 in 2017


Salem, South Dakota had a population of 1,394 people in 2017, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the South Dakota Business Daily.

The median age was 40, with 46.3 percent of the total population being female and 53.7 percent male.

The state’s total population in 2017 was 855,444.
