Graduates earn 381 degrees, certificates from the Western Dakota Technical Institute


About 40.2 percent of the 381 degrees and certificates handed out by the Western Dakota Technical Institute in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in City conferred 79 certificates and 74 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in licensed practical/vocational nurse training. Data shows the school gave out 40 certificates in licensed practical/vocational nurse training, followed by 28 certificates in "other" precision metal working and 22 associate's degrees in vehicle maintenance and repair technologies, other.

The institute enrolled 1,050 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
