South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry issued the following announcement.
Name: Business Day at the Legislature
Date: February 21, 2019
Time: 1:30 PM - 7:00 PM CST
Business Day at the Legislature has been a cornerstone event of the Chamber for more than 40 years. As with any event, the format of the day has undergone an evolutionary process to remain relevant and provide value to the membership and local community leaders who help drive attendance. 2019 marks the next phase in that process.
In response to comments from our community partners, the Business Day Committee and Board of Directors have condensed the day's format. To address already busy schedules and minimize time away, we have established an informative, interesting event that allows for active participation while maintaining an efficiency of time.
This annual event is time well spent to stay informed of trending issues, vote your opinions during Business Caucus and network with business and community peers from across the state. Business Day also provides the opportunity to talk with your district legislators, members of the Governor's team, cabinet officials and constitutional officers as all are sponsored to attend to the reception.
Business Day will be held at the Pierre Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center and the State Capitol.
1:30 PM - Registration Opens - Ramkota Conference Lobby
2:00 -3:30 PM – David Owen's Legislative Update and Business Caucus
3:30 – 5 PM – Time at the Capitol with special speaker at 4 o’clock (Topic and speaker to be deteremined after the Legislative Session is underway)

Providing leadership on legislative, regulatory and ballot initiative issues is the core strength of the Chamber and our strengths in these areas comprise the core benefits of membership in the Chamber. Business Day provides an opportunity:
To bring together like-minded citizens/members to learn about and discuss the legislative, regulatory and ballot initiative issues being debated
To demonstrate the collective voice of business and industry to state policy makers, including legislators, executive branch and statewide officials
For attendees to voice their opinions on these issues during Business Caucus
For networking, which is a valued component of the event
To inform and advocate with department officials and legislators on these issues
