Students Inducted into French National Honor Society

Augustana students Holly Wilson and Brianna Roth have been inducted into Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honor Society.

Following the induction ceremony during which initiates read selections of French poetry, members of Pi Delta Phi and other intermediate- and advanced-level students of French enjoyed a French meal prepared by Dr. Scott Fish, associate professor of French, which included: bœuf bourguignon; salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing, red onion, feta cheese, pomegranate seeds, and homemade maple glazed walnuts; French bread and brie cheese; and tartelettes with cream cheese and strawberries.

Pi Delta Phi, established at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1906, is the oldest collegiate academic honor society for a foreign language in the United States. Dr. Scott Fish, faculty moderator of Augustana's Mu Alpha chapter, is also serving his third term as National President of the Society.
