Missouri Valley Historic Preservation Conference to be held May 16


Vermillion Area Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

Professionals, citizen activists and the curious are welcome to attend with a $20/person registration fee payable by credit card on this site or at the door. Advance registration is strongly encouraged.

May 16-18, 2018, Vermillion, SD

Welcome to the conference registration, managed by the Vermillion Area Chamber and Development Company, on behalf of the host Clay County Historic Preservation Commission.

The conference is intended to provide interested persons with a keynote overview of the economics of historic preservation, various topical discussions and an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences across state lines. One of the founding cities of Dakota Territory and the home of the University of South Dakota (USD), Vermillion overlooks the Missouri River near the convergence of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Special conference hotel rates of $55/night plus tax are available at the Red Roof Inn, 1208 E Cherry Street, Bus. Highway 50. Reservations should be made directly at the hotel at 605.624.8005.

Additionally, Best Western and Buffalo Run Bed & Breakfast/Valiant Vineyards Winery are both offering 10% off regular rates for reservations made for purposes of attending this conference.
